This is an opportunity to join the Trust's Workforce Directorate to cover the role of Head of EDI whilst the post holder takes up a temporary development opportunity. There are clear workplans and governance arrangements in place and we are looking for someone who can support the continued implementation of these plans.
The role works closely with our Staff Networks and our Freedom to Speak up Guardian and is part of the wider Workforce Directorate Senior Team. You will need to have evidence of experience of either leading or supporting the EDI agenda in a complex organisation and a proven ability to engage and contribute at all levels internally and externally. You will be a compelling and compassionate communicator with an ability to coordinate projects effectively and lead them to conclusion in a timely manner. You will be willing to share your own lived experience in order to influence change where required both in the Trust and collaboratively within our system wide network. We are keen to hear from all candidates with the appropriate experience who feel they can make a real contribution to Royal Papworth Hospital. If you can bring fresh perspectives, in any way, to the challenges we face whether through your background as someone from an UK ethnic minority or you live with a disability (visible or not), are open about your faith, religion or belief or about being LGB or T, your application will receive a warm welcome. As will applications from all suitable candidates.
The primary responsibilities of this post are to provide leadership, expertise and operational management in all aspects of EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity), ensuring the Trust fulfils its requirements in relation to the Public Sector Equality Duty. This will include developing strategies to improve the employment journey and career progression for staff from all backgrounds and protected characteristics, ensuring equity and opportunity for all.
The postholder will work across the Trust and in partnership with ICS, Regional and national EDI leads to ensure that the work that we do is aligned to our the Trust Strategy and the NHS People Plan. The post leads the EDI function within the Workforce Department and reports directly to the Director of Workforce and OD.
