Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill a key role in the Business Analysis and Reporting team which is currently going through an exciting time of change, to bring new technologies to the forefront of its work across the Trust as part of a new Trust wide digital strategy. The team is transitioning to use Microsoft Power BI as the mainstay for presenting Trust reporting and analysis to operational teams and commissioners alike, to enable greater self-service and add more value to the delivery of business intelligence.

The post-holder will frequently represent the Business Analysis and Reporting directorate as a “first point of contact”, for performance and business reporting requirements.  Working directly with the operational directorates, and also corporate directorates, the post-holder will design, develop and provide highly-complex, specialist analysis reports, on both a regular and ad-hoc basis and will therefore need excellent SQL skills.

It is essential the successful candidate lives within commutable distance to the Trust Head Offices in Wickford, Essex.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is responsible for coordinating and developing performance improvement projects across the Trust, advising and supporting services on the actions required to improve their adherence to national and contractual standards.

The post holder will apply specialised data analysis and interpretation skills, using current and developing new systems, to provide data for and on behalf of the Trust using your excellent SQL skills. The post holder will ensure that relevant, accurate and appropriate information is provided in a timely fashion, and an easily understandable format.  The post holder will also validate the accuracy of outgoing information and communicate complex issues to the appropriate audience for action

The post-holder will play a critical role in the future development of the Trusts performance and business reporting procedures and systems.

The post-holder will be required on occasion to attend meetings to present highly-complex, specialist analysis to a variety of audiences including senior managers.  The post-holder will be required to explain all report findings and resolve any data issues.
