We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team of Hub Controllers within the Highland Hub. This is an important role, which contributes to patients being able to access the right care at the right time.

You should have experience in a call handling, administrative or customer service role. You will be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills and able to work on your own as well as part of a team. Excellent organisational, problem-solving skills and a flexible approach to work are also required. Applicants also need to be I.T literate with the ability to learn to use a range of software systems in the Hub. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are essential.

The successful applicant will be based in the NHS Highland Hub at Assynt House Inverness. They will work within a small team of Hub Controllers, supported by a Team Leader, Systems Specialist and Business Support Manager, providing call handling services for telecare, out of hours primary care, dental, palliative care line and other services.

The Hub is a 24/7 rota operating a 4 on, 4 off full time rota. This role will require shift work which will include weekends and may also include nightshift.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
