This exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior CBT therapist  to join our dynamic and supportive Wellbeing Team within Camden CAMHS.

Camden CAMHS Wellbeing Team, is an early intervention service that provides evidence-based group and individual interventions with children, young people and families with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Your role will include consultation, assessment, therapy, supervision as well as service development, evaluation and training. The Wellbeing Team is part of the Camden CAMHS Service which delivers high quality care to the local population of 4-18 years old.

The Wellbeing Team works with children young people and families where there are difficulties relating to low mood, anxiety and challenging behaviour. We provide evidence based individual and group interventions and support the clinical intake team with information gathering. We work closely with the North and South Community Teams often co-working with systemic psychotherapists, psychotherapists, mental health nurses and psychiatry. The Wellbeing Team provides an evening clinic to improve accessibility and some evening work will be required as part of the role.

Applicants must hold BABCP accreditation but we may consider applications from those who have accreditation applications pending decision. Applicants must be prepared to complete the CYP Psychological Therapies supervisor training in future.

Main duties of the job

A key aspect to your role will be providing clinical supervision to CBT practitioners and therapists to support their training and accreditation needs. You will support trainees develop through individual and group supervision.

The post holder will undertake comprehensive clinical assessments of young people and families, with development of formulations to guide treatment planning. As a senior CBT therapist you will support team members with risk and complexity as well as holding a small caseload or complex cases requiring an adapted therapeutic approach and network liaison.

The postholder will complete comprehensive risk assessments and respond appropriately. They will provide high quality communication with families and professional networks.

This will be a community-based post, with most of the work taking place at the Tavistock Centre. The post holder must be able be able to work collaboratively with other members of the team, staff from other teams as well as with our allied partners across education, health, social care and the charity sector.
