Job overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Highly Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join Durham and Darlington Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service at an exciting time of service transformation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the clinical leadership team across our Getting Help Services including the Getting Help Team and Mental Health Support Teams in Schools. You will provide direct clinical work with children, young people and their families alongside supervision, consultation and training to other members of the team and play a key role in continuing to develop integrated working within the service. Applicants should have significant experience of delivering psychological informed interventions to children experiencing a range of mental health problems. Additionally, applicants must already be qualified in cognitive behavioural therapy and accredited with BABCP and also qualified / trained in clinical supervision. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to have the necessary skills and experience to undertake direct clinical work with children and families, provide clinical supervision, advice, consultation and training to other members of the service, and will play a key role in continuing to develop the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working of the team. Service development ideas and innovation in the role are encouraged and welcomed. The successful candidate will be under the support and guidance of a Consultant Psychologist within the wider CAMHS service.

The postholder will provide behavioural and cognitive psychological interventions to children with a range of mental health difficulties. They will work within a multidisciplinary team, carry their own caseload and provide expert supervision within the CBT framework. They will undertake risk assessment and risk management and provide advice and support to carers / families about a client’s care and management of presenting problems. They will also be expected to provide senior clinical leadership and service development across all aspects of the service.
