We are seeking two Health Care Assistants to join our Outpatients A team.

This is a band 2 role rising to band 3 after 6 months once the successful candidate has completed the Care Certificate(within 3 months of start date) and consolidation of learning (3 months).

Main duties of the job

The outpatient service is currently Monday to Friday with variable shift patterns 08:00am to 18:00pm. (32.5 hours per week).

The successful candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliableand have a desire to work in Ophthalmology.

In house training will be given to achieve the competency based assessments required for the role. On completion of relevant training this role will progress to a band 3.

The role covers assisting qualified nurses to prepare patients in clinics both at base and in the outreach setting. Developing extended skills in Humphrey Visual Fields and phlebotomy. Other duties involve ordering stock items and assisting with minoroperation sessions.
