· Be an effective and inspirational clinical leader, responsible for the quality and delivery of the clinical services within the Directorate. Focused on continuous improvement across all service areas
· In conjunction with the Clinical Directors and Assistant Directors, be responsible for the strategic, clinical, and quality assurance of MHLDA. Form key partnership roles with Director of nursing, Corporate Quality and Patient Safety Teams to agree robust systems and processes
· Accountable for achieving quality and patient safety compliance and oversight of complaint, serious incidents, and PALS processes.
· Lead in identifying trends and themes that impact on quality and patient safety work across the Directorate
· Champion shared learning, leading safety summits and interrogation of clinical process to ensure high quality care and clinical delivery of patient outcomes is maximized
· Lead internal process for CQC self-assessments across the Directorate to ensure the 5 CQC domains are achieved in all areas and develop robust monitoring processes to address areas of variation.
· Accountable for the delivery of clinical quality, safety, and risk management in all service areas
· Provide leadership in fostering a safety culture throughout all clinical areas through training and increasing knowledge and awareness.
· Translate national policy into clinical practice, horizon scanning and benchmarking to inform the key priorities for the Directorate.
· Work in collaboration with Service leads to ensure safe staffing establishments are triangulated to achieve the annual workforce plans, offering robust challenge to underpin service activity and demand. Provide expertise in skill mixing to inform workforce planning.
