The Electronic Patient Records (EPR) project represents a major IT project in Moorfield’s excellence delivery programme. Allowing clinicians and colleagues across the trust in making more effective decisions, improving clinical outcomes and patient experience. There is now an exciting opportunity to join the Trust’s finance team as a Finance Manager within the corporate team to support on all elements of IT, EPR and Digital Projects. As the principal finance contact for these areas, this is a vital role in ensuring the accurate financial reporting and forecasting of projects expenditure, including capital and revenue classifications. This post will also provide information to the Senior Management Team to ensure budgets are appropriately maintained and financial results are reported accurately.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities also include:

  • Managing and reporting all financial aspects of IT, EPR an Digital Projects, monitoring performance against budget with variance analysis and providing corrective advice.  •    Ensuring monthly reports on financial results are robust and produced in a timely manner, including month end and budgetary journals.  •    Providing financial information and advice to project budget holders and project teams through regular meetings with workstream leads and proving information on any external financial changes that may impact projects.  •    Producing information to support the creation of annual accounts and having overall responsibility for the in year and future year project capital and revenue forecast to inform the annual and strategic planning process.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This is an important role within Moorfields Eye Hospital whereby the successful applicant would find themselves working closely with Senior Leadership for IT and Finance in an interesting and challenging setting. Applicants must be qualified within a CCAB body with considerable experience in Financial Management, a strong eye for detail and an ability to build lasting relationship with key budget holders.
