Job overview

We are a large and dynamic Speech and Language Therapy service of around 100 staff, working across all service areas in Derbyshire.

This  exciting opportunity has arisen in the children's team  and we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced speech and language therapist with specialist skills in paediatric dysphagia  to  work across the City and County team  and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Royal Derby Hospital.

A band 5/6 development opportunity would be considered for someone already in the process of  developing their  paediatric dysphagia competencies.

Main duties of the job

All our therapists work with children who have  a wide range of speech, language, communication and eating and drinking needs.  The specialist area of interest for this post is in paediatric dysphagia. You will need to have post graduate experience of  working with children under 12months and children over 12 months with eating and drinking needs.

You will  be  a HCPC registered and be mobile between locations.

They will be proficient in their abilities to deliver high-quality, evidence-based practice, with a proven ability to provide leadership and support within an SLT service.

You will work alongside a friendly team of SLTs, SLPs and SLTAs, with line management support from an SLT team leader, as well as having access to clinical supervision and relevant CPD opportunities.

You will have a commitment to providing a high standard of patient-focused care and be a strong team player.
