This role will support the delivery of the Trusts Workforce Development Plan specifically around driver education within the development pathways of new clinicians and delivery of the emergency response driving refresher programme to ensure compliance with legislation.
Our Location
This Driving Educator post is aligned to EMAS Education at Nottingham Trent University - Clifton Campus, in Nottingham. This is an attractive area to work in with competitive housing, a historic city, and attractive towns and villages nearby. Training delivery will generally be shared between Oak House and Clifton NTU Education Centres.
We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an emergency response driver educator. The role of Driving Educator is an important role within EMAS Organisational Learning and contributes to the delivery of taught programmes, as well as supporting divisional-based development and annual educational updates.
About You
You will need to embrace the EMAS Trust values and be committed to developing and delivering high-quality education. You will be an experienced response driver holding IHCD or Level 3 CERAD qualification.
Our Programmes
This is a particularly exciting time in driver education, and EMAS have a range of students/learners accessing various recruit pathways such as Newly Qualified Paramedic (NQP), Student Technician and Ambulance Support Crew programmes, along with Urgent Care Assistant and Patient Transport Programmes. We are also implementing a 5 yearly refresher programme for all emergency response drivers to ensure compliance with amendments to legislation. You will need to be confident to teach and assess across the range of driver training provisions.
Working within the Driver Education Team, your main roles will be
1. Delivery of Level 3 CERAD courses in line with the awarding bodie's requirements
2. Assessment of learners during the assessment phase of the Level 3 CERAD course
3. Delivery of the Trust's 1-day emergency response driving refresher session in line with legislative requirements
4. Complete post-accident support sessions as directed by a Driving Education Lead
5. Take an active part in quality assurance activities including standardisation, peer and manager reviews
