An exciting opportunity has arisen at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust for a new Costing Business Partner to join the Strategy, Costing and Innovation Team.

The successful candidate will lead the Costing Team and be responsible for the provision of high-quality costing, benchmarking, service line reporting, and productivity dashboard analysis, engaging with multi-disciplinary stakeholders at all levels across the Trust.

This is a great opportunity to influence both internally and externally, supporting the organisation to identify efficiencies and productivity improvement and to support the national currency and payments work for Mental Health.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of NHS Costing, Patient Level Information and Costing Systems (PLICS) and Service Line Reporting (SLR), along with strong technical and leadership skills.

You will need to possess excellent communication and a real commitment to excellent service delivery. You must be creative and innovative, with the desire and ability to propose changes to working practices and procedures.

Main duties of the job

The Costing Business Partner will be responsible for leading, motivating and managing the Costing Team and will be required to work closely with clinical, finance, performance and operational colleagues, project groups and other internal and external stakeholders, including NHS organisations.

In conjunction with the Assistant Director of Finance, this post will provide senior leadership to develop and implement the Trust’s costing approach, underpinned by robust SLR analyses to drive value by identifying efficiency opportunities through costing and benchmarking insights.   The post-holder will support service transformation proposals by providing robust information to support redesign/modernisation and / or new business proposals.

The post-holder will lead on the robust allocation of income and expenditure to identified clinical ‘service lines’. This will involve close collaboration with colleagues across the Trust’s Care Groups and Corporate functions to share and improve key information flows, and sustain engagement, to support the achievement of sustainability, transformation and productivity.

The post-holder will lead the Costing Team to engage with multi-disciplinary stakeholders to produce productivity dashboards to support the organisation to understand cost drivers, variation, and opportunities for improvement and efficiencies.
