We are looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking consultant with a special interest in fetal Medicine to join our Obstetric and Gynaecological team The women’s directorate is also looking at the possibility of moving to a split obstetrics and Gynaecology rota once a satisfactory consultant number is achieved. This will provide an opportunity for flexibility in the future job plan.
This is a full-time post for a consultant with a special interest in Fetal Medicine and/or advanced Obstetric Ultrasound skills
The position has become available to ensure continued service provision following the retirement of the previous post holder. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our team, focusing on enhancing our Fetal Medicine Liaison Service and contributing to the development of the Small Baby Clinic in collaboration with the Fetal Medicine Liaison Service Lead Consultant.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Fetal Medicine Liaison Service, performing specialised scans and investigations in close partnership with the screening team and managing fetal anomaly referrals to the tertiary care Fetal Medicine Unit at LGI. The postholder will manage complex antenatal cases, address medical complications of pregnancy, and provide both acute and elective obstetric and gynaecological care. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on maternal and fetal health while working within a multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for a flexible, dynamic, and enthusiastic individual who is committed to team working to join an existing team of consultants providing a comprehensive Obstetrics and Gynaecology service.
The post holders will participate in a 1:13 on-call rota at Calderdale Royal Hospital. They will be a resident on-call element to the role between the hours of 18.00 and 22.00 Monday to Friday and 08.00 to 19.30 Saturday and Sunday when on call. The post holder will also be responsible for covering acute obstetrics and gynaecology on a hot week basis (Mon-Fri) between 8 am and 6 pm. The number of hot weeks per annum might range from 4-6.
The selected candidate will be a key member of the dynamic obstetrics and gynaecology team. The Job plan is a dynamic process in the CHFT Women Directorate, and changes are done based on service needs and individual professional development. The role may include the lead of a service area and or representation in local or regional specialist committees and forums if the candidate has sufficient experience as per the job description documentation.
The service is currently working toward Split Obstetrics and Gynae rota, so the frequency of hot weeks and on-call are subject to change based on service needs.
