Required to fill this full-time replacement post within the Orthopaedic Department at Chapel Allerton Hospital with special interest in foot and ankle. This post will support the Foot and ankle team (Mr Adam Lomax, Mr Ray Monkhouse and Mr Paul Dearden). There will be opportunities to contribute to the trauma on call rota.
The successful applicant should possess MB BS (or equivalent) and should be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register.

Applicants should have established skills in Trauma and Orthopaedics and its related specialties including Foot and Ankle surgery. A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest is desirable.
Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.

2. OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
To deliver care to patients with orthopaedic pathologies at Chapel Allerton Hospital
Out-patient clinics
Supervision of patients
Care of in-patients on a Trauma rota (1:12)
Contribute to Specialist Multi-disciplinary team meetings
2.1 To link with consultant colleagues in other relevant site specialist teams within the Orthopaedic Service and across the different sub specialities.
2.2 To work with colleagues in Trauma to deliver acute on call (currently 1:12). This includes both out-of-hours cover in addition to acute ward rounds during normal working hours.
2.3 To contribute to research, teaching and new developments within the Elective Orthopaedic department. The post holder will be encouraged to facilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programs on going in the department.
