Job overview

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 6 Learning Disability Nurse to join our LD CAMHS team on a 2 year secondment . In this role, you will provide high-quality behavioural and sleep assessments and interventions to children and young people who have a  Severe Learning Disabilities and who exhibit challenging behaviours. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualised care plans aimed at improving outcomes for our clients. You’ll be part of a passionate, supportive team that values your skills, creativity, and dedication. No two days will be the same, and your work will directly impact the lives of those you work with.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioural and sleep assessments for children and young people who have a Severe Learning Disability.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions tailored to the needs of each individual.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, care plans, and interventions.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions as required.
  • Travel across the Cheshire area as needed to provide timely support to clients.
  • The post holder would also be required to provide group workshops  to parents.

The post holder would be joining an established community team consisting of Learning Disability Nurses, Advanced Clinical Support Workers, Assistant Psychologists, a Clinical Psychologist,  Consultant Psychiatrist and Admin staff.
