An opportunity has arisen to apply for a role as Support Worker within the Wirral Complex Needs Service. The Complex Needs Services (CNS) plays a role in delivering mental health care for adults with personality-based difficulties and complex trauma. The post-holder will be part of a team that helps co-ordinate and implement direct and indirect psychological care to our client group, whilst also helping to support the wider system that works with our clients.
The post-holder will join a supportive and friendly team which includes multi-disciplinary professionals. Supervision will be provided frequently and it would help if the applicant has knowledge and skills of working with personality based difficulties and complex trauma.
CNS value innovative practice and look for candidates who can support ideas for service improvement and development. We are looking for someone who can contribute to the vision for the service, working closely with colleagues in different parts of the system, including primary care and the third sector services as part of the wider support for clients.
The post is full time.
The Support Worker role will help service users within the community to achieve desired goals in line with their care plan, helping them access wider services of support and enabling a strengths based approach to recovery under the guidance of a registered mental health practitioner within the team.
Psychological approaches are highly valued within our team and the Support Worker role may aid in the delivery of the skills based interventions within a group setting as well as a one to one basis. The role may also require supporting clients on the waiting list to 'wait well' ahead of commencing therapeutic interventions.
The post holder will establish and maintain effective communication and appropriate working relationships with colleagues, service users, carers and other health and care professionals and provide information and advice to service users and their carers. The role requires an awareness of clinical governance and risk management.
