We are looking for a clinical support worker to be an active member of the multidisciplinary team on an acute cardiology ward. The successful applicant will work on a 36 bedded acute cardiology ward at James Cook University Hospital comprising of 27 beds on the main ward and a 9 bedded Cardio monitored Bay.
Please note if you do not have the qualifications or experience marked as essential for a Band 3 role, you will be appointed at a Band 2.
Band 2 requirements – willingness to undertake all relevant training and qualifications if wishing to develop into a band 3 role.
Band 3 requirements - Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or GCSE equivalent (A-C/ 4-9)
Care certificate
Level 3 vocational qualification
Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties
and/or
Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3;
- Theoretical knowledge
- Experience of a range of care and related procedures
- clinical observations
- knowledge of relevant legislation
There is a clear framework to allow for postholders to develop from a band 2 to band 3 and this includes completion of the qualifications.
The successful applicant will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team, undertaking all aspects of personal care, delegated clinical care duties, including clinical observations and the completion of assessments in relation to Pain, nutrition, falls prevention, oral hygiene, pressure area prevention, V.I.P, moving and handling to provide healthcare and support that is individualised to the patient needs.The successful applicant will update and maintain accurate records of any care provision and update and escalate any concerns from their observations and activities to the appropriate registered professional. The successful applicant is expected to comply fully with all Trust policies and protocols, including those related to patient safety and the prevention of healthcare associated infections. They must also promote dignity, privacy, and respect, to deliver compassionate, safe, high-quality patient care.
