Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse - Willoughby

We have an exciting Band 6 opportunity to join our team on Willoughby Ward to cover maternity leave. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who enjoys a fast paced environment. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, be self-motivated and a dynamic leader. The successful applicant will join an established team within the Elective Division which specialises in gastrointestinal surgery.

Willoughby is an acute ward with 24 beds which normally specialises in pre and post-operative nursing care of elective and emergency bowel surgery patients including stoma care and managing patients with epidurals, PCA’s and central lines.

Willoughby Ward are looking after patients who have been admitted via the emergency pathway. You will have the opportunity to take care of patients both pre and post operatively after emergency surgery and develop acute surgical nursing skills.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will contribute to the development of the ward team and support the Ward Manager in the delivery of a consistently high quality and cost effective service.  To deputise for the Ward Manager as required.
