This fixed term post presents an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Tic Disorder Service.
The post holder will be based in a multidisciplinary team that provides assessment and treatment to children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental disorders (including Tourette syndrome and functional tics) alongside commonly co-occurring neurodevelopmental and mental health disorders.
Supervision and line management is provided by a Principal Clinical Psychologist. Training will be provided and there are strong research and development opportunities on the team.

Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for providing a systematic and autonomous clinical psychology service, within the Tic Disorder Service
- To provide psychological assessments of patients in person and using telemedicine
- To provide specialist diagnostic cognitive evaluation in collaboration with the MDT
- To assess and evaluate information from the child and family relating to medical condition, developmental status and mental health
- To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options
- Delivering evidence based psychological interventions in relation to tics and a range of co-occurring disorders
- To deliver psychological intervention groups to children and those involved in their care
- To adapt and apply evidence-based intervention protocol
- To ensure that patients have research-quality base-line and session outcome measurement, in line with national IAPT policy
- To contribute to the dissemination of psychological research and theory
- To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual patient
- To act as lead clinician on certain cases
- To communicate effectively in a sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of patients
- To attend case conferences, reviews and other meetings as appropriate
- To attend and contribute to weekly referrals and meetings as required
- To ensure that reports are entered into the relevant notes and communicated
