We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced clinical psychologist to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis service.

The PIER Team (Psychosis Intervention and Early Recovery) supports adults experiencing a first episode of psychosis. You will join a multi-disciplinary team committed to minimising the impact of first episode psychosis on individuals and their families. You will be based at the Merlyn Vaz centre in Leicester city but travel countywide to see clients in their homes and local communities. You will work closely with other clinical psychologists in the team and will be well supported in this rewarding role in a service that really values psychological perspective and input. Training and ongoing professional development will be prioritised. The PIER team is part of an established, psychology led, trauma informed Psychosis Pathway within the Trust. You will join a network of experienced psychologists and psychological therapists committed to promoting a non-pathologizing understanding of distress aimed at reducing stigma, promoting empowerment, and increasing social inclusion.

There are senior psychologists in strategic positions within the Trust leading on our Transformation process. It is an exciting time to join us and a great place to work as a psychologist as services become increasingly trauma focused and formulation driven.

Main duties of the job

You will receive clinical supervision and line management from the lead psychologist in the PIER Team.

You will provide clinical supervision and line management to our band 7 clinical psychologist. You will hold a case load and deliver evidence-based psychological interventions for psychosis and co-existing mental health issues, including family interventions. You will work with the lead psychologist to ensure supervision and governance systems are in place to support the clinical practice of PIER Psychologists.

You will provide supervision, training, consultancy and clinical support to MDT colleagues. You will work with senior colleagues to ensure the continued provision of high quality, responsive psychological therapies which meet NCAP therapy targets, support Step Up to Great Mental Health Service development plans and help to shape a psychologically informed service wide Psychosis Pathway. You will support research, audit and evaluation within PIER. You will support members of the MDT to competently deliver the care required and provide supervision and mentorship to peers and other MDT members.

You will contribute to the teaching of trainee clinical psychologists and supervise trainees on placement within the team. Leicestershire is a diverse and vibrant county.

We welcome applications from individuals committed to increasing equality, diversity and inclusion especially in relation to understanding and working with psychosis.
