We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Clinical Oncology Nurse Specialist to our newly developed roles on the A6 Day Unit.
Your responsibilities will include delivering oncology treatments, providing psychological support, treatment information and advice to patients diagnosed with cancer. You will act as a Key Worker to oncology patients, working closely with patients and the multi-disciplinary teams across the network helping to create and maintain a robust oncology outpatient service to our patients.
Successful candidates require excellent communication skills, experience in SACT Oncology delivery with a passion to develop high standards of care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patients care. You will also be trained to carry out a weekly breast oncology clinic that involves you carrying out pre SACT assessments for patients receiving chemotherapy at Rotherham. Following UKONs guidelines you will be expected to provide symptom management support to patients on treatment and know how to escalate.
As the patients Key Worker, your role will involve carrying out pre SACT consultations with oncology patients. Assisting in the delivery of treatments to meet individuals health and wellbeing needs throughout their cancer treatment pathway. Inclusive of administering chemotherapy, providing and receiving complex, sensitive information related to cancer patient care. You will promote best practice in health and safety, ensuring equality, diversity and individual rights at all times.
