Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic registered practitioner with advanced clinical skills who has  successfully completed their  nurse prescribing   qualification to join the  Waveney ward  team .  we are an  all female inpatient unit  for for adults .We want applicants who are keen to be part of transformation and improvement in the area of acute  care; people who can offer strong clinical leadership, education and mentoring to the team.

North Norfolk and Norwich  inpatient service provides  24/7 care   to services user  we work closely with CRHT who provide  interventions as an alternative to hospital admission or to   support post discharge from inpatient areas .  You will be responsible for assessments, on admission and during admission , risk management, care planning, and co-ordination of care delivery within a well-resourced team, supported with regular supervision and providing opportunities to work in partnership with health and social care, linking into the wider multi-disciplinary service.

Main duties of the job

We are openly welcoming people from a diverse clinical background with experience in different areas of mental health along side the nurse prescribing qualification.

Your role within  the team  will include:

  • risk  management, supporting with the provision of mental health care services
  • Supporting and advising other health care professionals within the wider team
  • Giving advice about risk and demonstrating comprehensive assessment skills
  • A positive role model and mentor to colleagues and junior members of staff
  • Providing appropriate interventions to patients with mental illness (incorporating NICE guidelines)
  • Initiate, create and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and carers, ensuring that practice is patient centred.
  • Supporting and develop the principles of joint partnership working and to be pro-acting in fostering positive interagency relationships and information sharing
