The post holder will be required to provide information and advice to bothcolleagues within the department and staff in the wider Trust. This information is limited to advice on Trust ordering procedures, loan kits, status of equipment, orders and replenishment of equipment.
To be responsible for the oversight and management of the instrumentation and implants across both sites, to work with the clinical theatre team and essential stakeholders to ensure that the right equipment is in the right place on a day to day purpose. To work alongside clinical staff to ensure an effective kit management process is in place to ensure the orthopaedic calendars are accurate, updated and equipment ordered in a timelymanner.
Following successful completion of competencies take charge of the stock movement cross site, loan kits and implants.
Work closely with CSSD supplies and representatives to ensure efficient service delivery.
Perform stock rotation and ensure that goods close to expiring are reported to the suppliers according to their cut off times for replacement.
Work closing with other staff within the function to ensure efficient and cohesive delivery of service, including other duties that may reasonably be required to ensure continued service delivery.
Maintain accurate records of outstanding items on order and liaise with supplier to ensure timely delivery.
Communicate with senior orthopaedic staff regarding any issues.
Escalate concerns in a timely manner Organise and record all transportation of equipment to agreed locations.
Organise regular checking of equipment and trays to ensure they are in good order.
Solve day to day equipment issues and liaise with both sites to ensure the equipment is available in the right place at the right time.
Organise daily meetings with the relevant band 6/7 on each site.
Plan with CSSD the daily equipment requirements and movement of stock
Plan with CSSD any loan kit which is expected and monitor the completion of the documentation
