The Renal Department are looking to appoint a ST2+ doctor for a fixed term period of up to 12 months, commencing as soon as possible until 31st October 2025.
The successful candidate will work together with the wider clinical team of Consultants, Specialty Registrars, Renal Specialist Nurses and other Allied Health Professionals to deliver high quality renal care (excluding acute transplantation) for a catchment population of approximately 450,000 covering Tayside, Perth and Kinross and North East Fife. Applicants must hold Full GMC registration with a licence to practise or show evidence that it will be issued by start date. We are not able to sponsor candidates for GMC registration.
Main duties of the Job
The successful candidate would join our current team of renal specialty trainees and IMTs and rotate between the renal ward, dialysis unit, outliers (renal referrals/renal patients under different specialties) and clinics (new patient, general nephrology, transplant, advanced kidney care). There is a 1 in 6 on-call renal rota (evenings and weekend days only).
Even though the post is not recognised for training the successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend teaching and participate in audit, quality improvement and research projects where possible similar to the East of Scotland Trainees. The successful candidate will have a dedicated educational supervisor and there is a study leave budget available for approved educational opportunities. The successful candidate will be supported in completion of MRCP (UK) full diploma during post (if not achieved at time of application) to facilitate future applications to higher specialty training in renal medicine.
