Job overview

The Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams provide care for working age adults who are experiencing severe mental health difficulties. In accord with national plans we have been operationalising significant changes to our services to improve the mental health of our Leicestershire population, and psychological aspects of support have specifically been developed and expanded.

We are looking for a qualified Clinical Associate in Psychology to join us. The Neighbourhood Team is multidisciplinary, including Peer Support Workers, Health Care Support Workers, Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatric Nurses and Occupational Therapists, and teams work closely with Social Services.

In the multidisciplinary setting you will have opportunity to acquire a range of psychology skills, and do so with the support and supervision of a qualified psychologist in that team. You will also join a psychology team that meet regularly for learning, clinical and service development discussion, and peer support. There will be internal training to help you to fulfil this role.

A key feature of this role is learning to assess, formulate and deliver psychological therapy to individuals on a one to one basis, as well as evaluating progress. You would also apply formulation skills to support the team to work with those individuals for whom individual therapy is not appropriate.
