We are looking for volunteers based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Volunteers play a very important role in the NHS. Working in a range of settings and providing a variety of services alongside paid staff, volunteers are often a key part of patient services.

Main duties of the job

Main purpose of role:

  • To assist the Charity and Membership Co-ordinator and help to raise awareness of the Trust Membership and Hospitals charities. To carry out a variety of administrative and clerical duties.2. To assist with the preparation of communications materials for public and staff displays.

3. To assist in the organising of events.

4. Dealing with telephone enquiries including using a call answering telephone system as well as face to face contact.

5. Assisting the office staff, photocopying, scanning, emailing, faxing, distributing, filing and organising letters and other documents.

6. The opening and stamping of Charity/Membership letters.

7. Support the recruitment of public foundation trust members. This involves talking with the public with regards to membership and ways of getting involved within the hospital.

8. Supporting the sale of raffle tickets on behalf of the Charity Office.

9. Support the office with monthly tasks e.g., entering staff data onto the FT MES database.
