Full time, 37 hours- 9 months fixed term to cover maternity leave
An opportunity has arisen at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for a senior registered nurses who are keen to enhance and develop their management and clinical skills in a Charge Nurse position.
The candidate should have a commitment to Acute Cardiology and General Medicine, patient centred care and supporting effective team working. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, supporting the Senior Charge Nurse and the current Charge Nurse team in driving forward change within both Ward 21 (CCU) & Ward 23. Previous Charge Nurse Experience is desirable. The post holder will be expected to ensure safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience and contributes to the delivery of the organisation's objectives. The post holder must have post registration experience within an acute clinical setting and be able to demonstrate leadership knowledge and awareness. They must understand the complexities of caring for individuals with acute and chronic Cardiology and Medical illnesses.
Ward 21 consists of 8 monitored beds and Ward 23 consists of 26 inpatient and both are busy, acute and high turnover areas. As a Charge Nurse you will be expected to have an overview of the whole department and support with capacity and flow ensuring timely access to the Cardiology floor.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
