A key aspect of this role is to manage and support the Lung Cancer straight to test service. This is prior to patients commencing cancer  treatment, You will also support the whole Lung cancer Team.

Main duties of the job

To support cancer patients and their family/friends under the guidance and supervision of a registered practitioner during their cancer journey from referral to diagnosis, through treatment and follow-up with living with and beyond cancer, covering elements of Stratified Pathways. This involves psychological and informational support respecting at all times patients’ diverse cultural back grounds, with courtesy, dignity and privacy

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The person interested in this role needs to be a good communicator with patients and colleagues, enabling our patients to receive the best possible care.

You will work alongside the Lung  Cancer Team providing support for those patients with a Lung malignancy.

Triage incoming calls from patients using protocols and initiate appropriate responses based on appropriate tools and procedures.

Support the Colorectal team with telephone calls and contribute to the holistic needs assessment and care plan as part of stratified pathways.
