Breast Data Co-Ordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Women & Children’s Breast Team at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

The post holder will be responsible for keeping up to date the general activity database of the unwarranted Breast Treatment Variation in breast cancer re-operation rates following breast conservation surgery. As part of this process, the post holder will work closely with clinicians to collect data and maintain the database activity and analyse data as required.

Main duties of the job

1.  Co-ordinate the undertaking of questionnaires and physician reports in a timely manner within strict deadlines which will need planning in liaison with the medical and nursing teams to optimise compliance with the protocol

2.  Gathering information from other medical settings within set time scales pursuing information to be gained

3.  The post holder will need to be able to evaluate and interpret data before data entry

4.  The post holder will have to respond to queries and to patients regarding information

5.  Locate medical records and investigation reports for patients recruited and retrieve necessary information from these sources for entry into the database

6.  Input information into the relevant databases in a timely and accurate manner

7.  Process routine correspondence

8.  Photocopy documentation as required to maintain records

9.  Ensure all documents are completed and filed appropriately, the post holder will be required to maintain local files in respect of the Registry

10.  Answer and respond to telephone enquiries in a polite, sensitive and helpful manner
