Job overview

We are looking for a part-time Pharmacy Technician – Digital Systems to join our team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

This role is integral to the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of our electronic prescription service (EPS), Cleo, which will enhance the transfer of patient information between secondary and primary care services.

As a key member of the pharmacy EPMA team (Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration), you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to design and configure digital prescribing systems (EPMA and EPS), contributing to the ongoing development of digital healthcare solutions.

Main duties of the job

  • To design, configure and further implement clinically focussed and evidence based electronic prescribing systems (Cerner and Cleo) across the trust.  •    To lead, formulate and manage the strategy for training and inducting clinicians, pharmacy, nursing and other relevant staff on the use of Cleo Electronic Prescribing System (EPS). •    To implement, manage and develop the technical and clinical aspects of the EPS and EPMA systems, in conjunction with the Head of EPR and Applications. •    To be responsible for setting up and managing end-user EPS accounts. •    To participate in the clinical pharmacy technician rota, providing a ward-based pharmacy service for medical patients . •    To participate in the development of appropriate reports for EPS to provide accurate information for the management of patient care, financial remuneration and meeting KPIs. •    To participate in the accuracy checking pharmacy technician rota. •    To ensure EPS system supports the delivery of prescriptions to primary care providers of NHS services.
