Are you a dietitian looking for a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in Paediatrics?

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated dietitian who currently works in paediatrics or has an interest in paediatric dietetics and is looking for an opportunity to develop their skills in this area to join our friendly team. This is a band 6 post but we are willing to consider recruiting to a band 5 development role which on achieving competencies will become a band 6 role.

You will provide care to children both as inpatients and outpatients across the Trust, under the care of the Paediatric Directorate, as well as outpatients referred by their GP. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in general paediatrics, Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis, Neonatology, Nutritional Support and Food Allergy/Intolerance. We use electronic records.

Whilst an experience of working in Paediatric Dietetics or Diabetes is desirable, it is not essential. However, some experience of working with children will be an advantage.

You should have excellent interpersonal and time management skills together with an ability to be flexible and a commitment to teamwork.

The post holder will participate in student training and be joining a large supportive dietetic department who work holistically with medical, nursing and therapy colleagues.

This post provides an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of paediatric dietetics. You will manage your own caseload and provide care to children both as inpatients and outpatients. There is the opportunity to gain experience in general paediatrics, Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis, Neonatology, Nutritional Support and Food Allergy/Intolerance with clinical supervision and training provided.

Paediatric Dietitians are an integral and valued part of the multi disciplinary team and you will work closely with all members, contributing to ward rounds, clinics and team meetings as appropriate.

You will contribute to training of student dietitians on placements.

This post is based at Heartlands Hospital but may involve travel to Solihull and Good Hope Hospitals. Please see the job description for further detail of the post.
