An exciting 12 month fixed  term opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and compassionate dietitian to join the STEPS eating disorders specialist dietetic team . The Service provides a dietetic provision to both inpatient and community eating disorder patients.

Applications for this post will also be considered as a developmental opportunity with applications welcomed from candidates at band 5. Specialist support and supervision via a competency framework will be available to candidates, to develop towards a band 6 role.

Accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of FREED Service Users  and  organise this effectively.

Work independently at times whilst being aware of own limitations.

Assess the nutritional status of  service users within the Eating Disorders Service and work collaboratively  to establish realistic and achievable  plans.

Formulate individualised management and treatment plans to  promote optimal physical, mental health and nutritional status.

Monitor patients  altering  treatment plans according to changes in physical or psychological conditions taking into account biochemical and anthropometric measurements, changes in medication and dietary compliance.

Help manage the online meal support service treatment pathway

Facilitate group education sessions, providing psycho-education and practical meal support.

Provide dietary and medical information in a clear and straightforward manner.

Communicate effectively with patients in an compassionate way.

Communicate effectively with medical and nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

liaise with catering services on the provision and implementation of appropriate diets.

Provide group education and training to patients, health care professionals and students.

Record activity data in accordance with  standards.

Maintain accurate and up to date  records that meet Trust and British Dietetic Association (BDA) standard

To supervise and support dietetic assistants within our Service.
