An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Band 6 dietitians to work in CC. One post will be recruited with immediate effect, with an additional post pending approval and will be vacant from August 2024. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic dietitians with excellent communication and team working skills, to work as an integral member of this team. The successful candidates will share this commitment to work in Critical Care and demonstrate our Trust PRIDE values.As a integrated member of the critical care MDT, you will be responsible for providing highly specialist nutritional assessment and nutritional care planning for patients within critical care. Experience of complex nutritional support and gastro-intestinal surgery is essential. You will be working as a dedicated Dietitian within the Critical Care Team, providing expert assessment, monitoring and support for patients requiring nutritional intervention by using evidence-based practice and conforming to national and international guidelines. To work as a dedicated Dietitian within the Critical Care Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), providing specialist, evidence based nutritional assessment, monitoring and support for patients requiring nutritional intervention by using evidence-based practice and conforming to best practice guidelines.

To manage a caseload within Critical Care; dealing with patients of varying degrees of nutritional complexity, without direct supervision and whilst exercising a large degree of autonomy.

The post-holder will participate in the development and provision of teaching programmes and support education strategies and initiatives for health care professionals within the Critical Care MDT to raise the standards of care in the provision of adequate nutrition for critically ill patients.

Multidisciplinary team working, close liaison between acute and community teams, and highly developed skills in communicating with patients, carers, and other service users is essential.

To contribute to the Trust clinical governance programme by participating in audits, development and implementation of evidence-based guidelines/protocols/policies and continuing professional development
