Full time position available within Good Hope Pharmacy Department and AMU

An excellent development opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and committed individuals to gain specialised skills in a clinical role. We are looking for 3 motivated clinical pharmacy technicians to join our diverse team to support the Ward Based Clinical Pharmacy Technician service to rotate between shift patterns consisting of 07:56-16:00 and 10:56-19:00.

The successful candidates will be committed to improving patient care and delivering a high quality Pharmacy service to our patients and Trust.

The successful candidates will have:

*At least one year's post qualification experience within an hospital setting

*Hold a nationally recognised Pharmacy technician qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council

*Accredited accuracy checking qualification

*A flexible approach to accommodate the needs of the service

Previous experience demonstrating a good understanding of ward based services would be advantageous.

We may consider applicants who do not meet all the essential criteria outlined within the personal specification for these posts.

Main duties of the job

Provide near patient medicine management services as part of our ward-based team across 7 days ensuring cost effective and efficient services are maintained throughout our patients stay. You will integrate into the ward multidisciplinary team assisting in medication reconciliation at clerking, discharge planning, TTO medicine supply and patient counselling. Additional duties include; the assessment of patients own drugs, audits, medication ordering, dispensing and checking of supplies. There will be a requirement to participate in extended hours including weekend working, bank holidays, late nights on a rotational basis.
