The post holder will act as a Healthcare Science Associate Practitioner within the Department, providing essential support to state registered Biomedical Scientists, performing analytical procedures to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
They will assist with the operation of highly complex automated analysers including their quality control, preventative maintenance, minor repair, and undertake manual and semi- automated procedures under supervision from Biomedical Scientists.
They will also perform general laboratory duties both with and without the direct supervision of BMS staff.
They will be required to participate in an “out of hours” shift rota to support the 24/7 working of the service across Royal Blackburn and Burnley General Hospital sites.
