Our Reigate  Community Mental Health Recovery Services are Secondary Mental Health Teams who provide assessments for evidence based, time limited treatment and psychological interventions for adults with severe and enduring mental health issues. The focus of our whole service is promoting recovery and independence and developing self-management strategies to encourage people to achieve their potential in the community.

We are a multidisciplinary team who provide advice and support for GPs and work with individuals and their carers and can refer or signpost to a number of statutory, independent  and voluntary sector agencies.  We seek to work closely with individuals and their families as well as other organisations where consent has been given.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed to work in a multi-professional team supporting people who use our services and enjoys managing clinical changes.

Main duties of the job

  • In partnership with ward and other clinical teams, collaborate on improving the quality of health care responding to local and national policies and initiatives as appropriate.
  • Support and participate in shared learning across the practice and wider organisation.
  • Critically evaluate and review innovations and developments that are relevant to the area of work.
  • Work as an effective and responsible team member, supporting others and exploring the mechanisms to develop new ways of working.
  • Provide an educational role to patients, carers, students, families and colleagues in an environment that facilitates learning.
  • Encourage and support the principles of clinical governance.,
  • To provide excellent visible clinical leadership and develop support mechanisms for sharing good practice across Working Age Adult Mental Health Services.
  • Develop and support the team to adopt health promotion strategies that would enhance adults service delivery standards.
  • To provide leadership in supporting the community transformation.
  • To actively seek essential and advanced educations and trainings to deliver a satisfactory service.
  • The post hold is required to build on existing key relationships with People who use our services and Carers and Senior Management.
  • The post holder may be asked to work flexibly to meet the service needs.

The candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role.

  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with people with mental health needs.
  • Experience of leading and adapting to change within area of practice
  • Experience of promoting excellence in practice and improvements in service delivery
  • Proven track record to deliver on performance.
  • Sound experience of operating effectively as a team lead in a health and social care setting for a minimum of 3 years at Band 6 or above in an in- patient services would be an advantage.
