Assistant Director of People Services
Full Time - Permanent
37.5 hours per week worked in an agile manner
Salary - £74,290 - £85,601
We are seeking a passionate and inspired individual to be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the People Services Team here at North-East Ambulance Service. Reporting to the Director of People & Development, this is an exciting opportunity for you to help drive change, utilise your leadership skills and empower managers to develop. It is a broad role which we feel will be extremely rewarding, working with a multi-disciplinary team of people professionals and operational managers to ensure that our staff are supported to deliver the best care possible to our patients.
Supporting the development and implementation of our People Strategy you will contribute to a wide range of projects. In addition, you'll actively promote the Trust through system working, national engagement within the Ambulance sector, and be a role model for the values and behaviours of our organisation and the people profession.

The post holder will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering a People Strategy that covers the whole employee life cycle and is underpinned by the Trust's vision and values.
This will include leading the HR team, Wellbeing & Occupational Health teams, Payroll and Workforce Information team, Resourcing team and Culture/Staff Experience team, to attract people to work with us, ensuring our onboarding processes are effective, supporting staff to be healthy and fit for work, driving an inclusive culture that retains staff, and therefore provides opportunities for our people to have a successful and meaningful career with NEAS in an environment where everyone can be themselves.
To work in partnership as an integral member of the senior management team to identify and deliver effective business focused HR, Wellbeing and OD solutions, which improve organisational effectiveness, enable teams to achieve business objectives and actively influence a high-performance culture that is able to attract, retain, motivate and develop high quality people.
They will also ensure a staff engagement plan is developed and delivered to ensure staff understand the Trust's vision and goals and how their role contributes to achieving them.
