Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Please see attached Job Description for further information about the Apprentice Senior Clinical Support Worker position available at WUTH.

Staff entering employment with the Trust via an apprenticeship pathway will be paid on the Trust’s local apprenticeship pay scale for the duration of their training programme. For the first 12 months of employment the staff member will be paid 75% of the payband minimum. From the start of month 13 until the end of their apprenticeship programme, the staff member will be paid 95% of the payband minimum or the national living wage (whichever amount is the higher amount).

This vacancy is being advertised as an apprenticeship and as such the salary for the role if reflective of this. Those who currently hold and can evidence the essential qualifications need not apply. Your application will not be shortlisted if you hold the essential qualification(s).

Although English and Maths at level 2 is not required for the role, it is a requirement to complete the apprenticeship and need to be in place by the end of the apprenticeship. If you do not hold or cannot evidence English and Maths at level 2 then support will be provided for the successful applicant(s) as part of the Trust’s apprenticeship offer.

Existing staff moving into an equal or higher banded apprenticeship role cannot be financially disadvantaged in doing so they will remain on their current pay scale or move onto the apprenticeship pay scale (whichever is the higher amount).

Existing staff moving into a lower banded apprenticeship role will move onto apprenticeship pay scale until the completion of the programme.

Whilst this role is being advertised as a permanent position, there is an expectation that the successful applicant must complete all elements of the apprenticeship. Initially, the successful applicant will be placed on a fixed term apprenticeship contract for the duration of the programme. Upon completion of the apprenticeship and providing all additional milestones are met, the successful applicant will be issued a permanent contract.
