Labelling, dispensing and final accuracy checking of prescriptions Receiving and Issuing prescriptions Aseptic services Providing excellent customer care and maintaining confidentiality while dealing with patients and staff Ward based duties, including Medicines Management and Optimisation to ensure safe medicine use

This post provides a unique opportunity to join the pharmacy team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and provides an excellent opportunity to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to become a fully qualified Pharmacy Technician.

Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians are essential to the continuing development of the pharmacy team, and applications are invited from enthusiastic, hardworking, self-motivated people with good written and verbal communication skills. Previous pharmacy or customer service experience would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided. This is a two year fixed term apprenticeship which includes working in the hospital Pharmacy and day release (online remote learning) at college leading to a Level 3 qualification. (Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians). This is a nationally recognised qualification, which on completion will allow you to register as a Pharmacy Technician with The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Apprenticeship and post is anticipated to commence on 21st February 2025

Qualifications required:

Four GCSE passes or equivalent at C/4 or above. Must include Maths, English and 1 Science subject (biology or chemistry)

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Requirement to participate in 7 day working to include late duties, bank holidays and weekend working.
