An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new & innovative Alcohol Care Team. If you are passionate about helping people, have excellent communication skills & want experience working within a specialist team, this is the role for you!

The successful candidate will provide a specialist alcohol service to patients, including the assessment of care needs, the planning, implementation and evaluation of care to meet those needs and contributing to the evaluation of care in the acute Hospital environment.

Experience in Gastroenterology or Alcohol Care is not essential as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

The role will involve working with patients to provide a pathway into treatment in the community for their alcohol use where appropriate. This will include detoxification support and assessments to ensure a smooth pathway into support on discharge.

They will provide the delivery of holistic packages of care through appropriate liaison with the multidisciplinary team and other agencies involved in the care of individual service users. This will include participating in case management reviews, safeguarding, etc. where required.

The post holder will assist the Band 6 and 7 to contribute to governance processes, including the continuing development, improvement and monitoring of service provision and performance and monitoring standards of care, through data collection and audit processes.

They will provide support, advice and training as appropriate to other services and agencies involved in provision of services to people with alcohol use disorders.
