Job overview

An exciting opportunity for a full time and part time (two days a week) administrator,  supporting MHSTs in South West Essex and Mid Essex.

Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) partner with schools and colleges across North,  Mid and South Essex to support mental health and emotional wellbeing. Our focus is on early intervention, prevention, and promotion; for young people who are thriving, coping or would benefit from getting help.

The post holder will be required to provide a comprehensive and confidential secretarial and/or administrative support to the locality/department to ensure the smooth running of the area.

The post holder will support their peers and operational manager and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively support and liaise with other health and social care professionals and agencies.

The successful applicant will work alongside our current team of administrators  who support the MHST's across all the Essex  localities. This position will require the ability to travel. The office base will be Phoenix House but travel to Mid Essex for the part time applicant will also be required.

Main duties of the job

  • Supporting the development and administration of the MHSTs
  • Using System One to open patient files, upload referrals and ensure accurate reporting.
  • General admin duties, including, preparation of patient letters, sorting incoming/out-going post, management of emails and incoming queries via telephone and post, photo-copying and scanning.
  • Minute taking at meetings as requested by the operational manager
  • Liaising with members of staff including, clinicians and senior managers
  • Knowledge and experience on Microsoft applications, such as, email, excel and word
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and promote a positive image of the team with service users, carers, professionals, and external agencies from a variety of disciplines, both within and outside the Trust.
  • Ensure that complex calls from anxious and distressed clients are passed to appropriate person to deal with (dealt with) effectively and appropriately or escalated to senior staff member if appropriate
