Job overview

Clinical Lead Dietitian for Children & Young People's Eating Disorders, covering the community of Cornwall and IoS. We value ourselves as being a close, supportive, and containing team that is passionate about providing high quality care, and look forward to welcoming you to be part of it.

You will be a key clinician within CYPEDS, using leadership skills to support and develop the dietetic element of our service. You will be innovative and facilitate evidence-based practice delivery for children, young people and their families across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Delivering all aspects of expert professional management and dietetic care to children and young people presenting with eating disorders and providing highly specialist advice.

You will be responsible for maintaining a caseload, using your specialist skills, from referral to discharge, conducting routine and high priority assessments and interventions as appropriate and exercising autonomy. You will be heavily involved in the support, training and supervision of more junior members of staff. You will be liaising and providing advice, information and consultation to colleagues and other agencies as well as undertaking service governance activity, including research and audit as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

To work as a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary Children and Young people’s Eating Disorders Service (community).

To work as a specialist autonomous practitioner providing dietetic support and advice to patients and Health Professionals in the specialist area of Eating Disorders Dietetic Service.

To lead a small dietetic team in this service.

To lead and contribute to policy development on matters relating to service development for the Eating Disorders Dietetic Service.

To develop appropriate resources within this specialist area of dietetic practice.

To help to establish Research and Development and a robust Audit review of service within this specialist area of dietetics.

To be part of an assessment team, providing appropriate dietetic assessment and support within this.

To offer dietetic reviews for children and young people on the caseload as required.
